Colophon
A colophon, if present, almost always occurs at the very end of a book. It contains factual information about the book, especially about its production, and includes details about typographic style, the fonts used, the paper used, and perhaps the binding method of the book.
When used in reference to Web sites, a colophon is a description of the tools, systems and resources used to create the Web site and keep it operational. The colophon serves to acknowledge and give credit to all the resources that combined to produce the specific site. A site typically will devote a separate page to detailing its colophon, and this one is mine.
CMS
Since its inception, this blog has been powered by Textpattern. Textpattern is fast, lightweight, and very powerful. I’ve had some experience with both Movable Type and Wordpress, and I’ve found that Textpattern outclasses both of those. If you’re in the market for a new backend for your own site, give it a shot.
Tools of the Trade
All coding is done in WeBuilder 2006. For the longest time, I only used Notepad, but I recently came across this program, and it’s completely changed the way I work.
Graphics (the few that I use, at least) are done in Adobe Photoshop CS. The image used in the header was found while searching Stock.XCHNG. Files were uploaded using FlashFXP.
