This post has nothing to do with the Anti-DS Phat Campaign

  • When I was driving to work this morning, it was cool and not humid at all—quite unlike the past few days have been. Not only that, but the skies were slightly overcast. Maybe I’m weird, but what I just described is possibly my favorite type of weather, depending on how I’m feeling. It put me in a great mood for the rest of the day. More on the weather later.
  • I went to Staples after dinner, shortly after 7 PM, to exchange a binder I bought the other day for a bigger one. I left my front car windows cracked about an inch. In the five minutes it took me to go into the store, return one binder, grab another, pay for it, and leave the store, it had started pouring…all over the inside of my car. I ran for it, got soaked, started the car and rolled my windows up. By the time I pulled out of the parking lot, the rain had slowed considerably, and when I got back to my house—half a mile from Staples, if that—I found out that it hadn’t rained there at all. Owned? Yes, I do believe so.
  • I don’t know what’s gotten into me, but I now have as many posts in the month of July as I had from October of last year through June of this year. Hopefully I’ll keep at it.
  • I enjoy the liberal use of bulleted lists in my posts.
  • Addendum: Tylenol PM works as advertised.

New York sports teams suck

I think this is the first time I can safely say I’m ashamed to be a fan of the New York Islanders.

My Islanders, who were the pride of the Island before I was born, back when they won four straight Stanley Cups, are basically the laughingstock of the entire NHL as of today.

Forty days ago, we hired Neil Smith as general manager.

Today we fired him and hired our backup goalie.

What the hell is going on here guys.

In other news:

  • I hate rich assholes who think that it’s OK to go through a red light after it changes because they drive a Mercedes, and then have the gall to honk their horn at the person they nearly hit who is exercising his right of way to make a left turn. I was really hoping that he would have wrecked it.
  • It’s thunderstorming as I’m writing this. I think I’m going to go listen to it.
  • I haven’t been sleeping very well for a week or so. I picked up some Tylenol PM today; I think I’m going to take two of those and listen to the thunderstorm.
